The series 13 Weeks To Find Mr Right is about a young journalist living around the fast streets of Johannesburg and is looking for love. She uses the columns she writes to meet the right man. The series is loaded with a great story and a great cast. The cast constitutes a mixture of new names and veterans in the industry. Let’s break down those names.
Kea Zawadi
The lead actress who plays the journalist is a newcomer, and her name is Kea Zawadi. This will be Kea’s first acting role as the lead, but she is in the media space and has built a name for herself as a DJ at the popular youth radio station YFM.
Bonko Khoza
Bonko is now a household name in Mzansi due to his significant role as Mqheke on the popular show Hlomu: The wife.
Who is Bonko Khoza?
Bonko was born in1990 in Johannesburg and studied at the University of Johannesburg. He is married to another artist Lesego Khoza who played Lindiwe on Isono. They married last year in March 2021.
The man has been around and has acted alongside some big names in Hollywood. Bonko was once nominated for the best actor award at the Tribeca film festival award in 2015 for a role he played in a movie called Necktie Youth, and he was also on a remake of Roots on the History Channel in 2016. He was also cast in an American film called Beautifully Broken in 2018.
Lerato Mvelase
Lerato is one of the veterans in this series. She is best known for her role as Katlego on the hit series Home Affairs from 2005-2009. Lerato has been gracing our screens with her talent for many years. She was in a movie called Love above all in 2010, as Albertina Sisulu in the Movie Madiba in 2017 with Lawrence Fishburne. She was also on Soul City in 1994.
Mmonye Kunupi
Mmonye Is one of the most versatile actresses in the country, and she has been in many excellent productions, including Generations. She was born in Cape Town and was also a queen in a now exed soapie called The Throne. Mmonye is also a radio presenter. She appears in TV commercials as well.
Didi Khunou
Didintle Khunou was born in Klerksdorp in 1992, and she made her debut on television in 2016 on a series called Mmmello and then, she joined the cast of Single Galz in 2018, and she joined Mmonye on The Throne in 2018.
The Rom-Com is coming to our screens on 6th February 2022. Bonko has confirmed his date with us on Phil Mphelas Twitter page writing. “Cats out the bag, see you on the 6th”, he added a heart emoji.
I guess we date then on 6 February 2022.
