Kea Zawadi is a rising name in South African entertainment circles. The young star is a rising star in radio hosting and has already been nominated for two awards so far. She recently started branching out into acting and proves that she is a force to be reckoned with. Kea Zawadi is to play the lead role in a new SABC 1 series.
The SABC 1 series is called 13 Weeks To Find Mr Right, and she is going to take on the lead playing Nkuli. Kea’s character is a journalist who looks for the perfect guy for her through her column. Nkuli then falls in love with Zakhele, whose character is brought to life by The Wife actor, Bonko Khoza.
Nkuli like most girls will have a bestfriend called Olwethu who is played by Mohau Cele. The drama series will take the viewers through a journey in the love story of Nkuli and Zakhele with all its ups and downs. Other actors who make up the cast of this new romantic comedy are Didi Khunou, Lerato Mvelase and Mmonye Kunupi.
Kea Zawadi’s career as a radio host and actress
The actress is not a new face in the entertainment industry as she has been a radio host for some time. She is the presenter on YFM from Sunday to Monday from 2200hrs to midnight on a show called Into the night. Her love for music spilt over, and she started her career as a singer with a hit single called Chill. Her sound is RnB with a bit of jab of soul, and her voice is phenomenal. On top of that, she also has a thriving career as a DJ and half of the duo called Fedi en Patja, together with her boyfriend Ayanda Makayi, with who she own a Youtube channel called The Red Leather.
Kea made her debut in acting with a role in a movie called No Hiding Here, which premiered on Showmax in 2021. The actress played the role of a High school girl in the film. She also makes a living being a voice-over artist, and she is very good at it. Kea has been nominated twice for awards as one of the Best radio hosts due to her work on YFM.
