Mbali Maphumulo wife to Dumisani Mbebe joins Uzalo
From bringing back old guards to bolster its cast to adding multi-millionaire Shauwn Mkhize. It seems as if Uzalo is not holding back. In the wake of these additions to the cast, Uzalo has also added Mbali Maphumulo.
Mbali Maphumulo is a South African actress who also happens to be the wife of actor Dumisani Mbebe. The seasoned actress also doubles as a singer and dancer.
It seems as if this is her rebirth to small screens after being off for years. Maphumulo is best known for her stellar performances as Amira Mokoena, a whimsical songwriter living in a fantasy world, in the e.tv drama series 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls, from 2010-2012.
Rumour has it that she will be playing Wenzile Nhlapo on the Mzansi hit soapie Uzalo. According to an insider source, the actress has already joined the cast for shooting.
“She’s already started shooting and is now based in Durban,” said a source.
“Her role is that of a no-nonsense, driven woman whose main priority is to succeed in her career. She’s settled well into the role and viewers are going to love her.”

However, another source revealed that the latest additions are intended to lure viewers after the show lost a number of viewers of late. The mass exodus of seasoned actors from Uzalo can be said to be privy to the slump in viewers.
Uzalo firebrand Dawn Thandeka King took Mzansi by surprise when she called it quits. Baby Cele is also one of the latest lead actors to drop the show in the eleventh hour. On the other hand, it was confirmed that Qhabanga will not be part of the new season seven coming soon.
We all hope that the magic trick and will work. Earlier this week Uzalo fans were wowed by Shauwn Mkhize debut. She nailed it and Mzansi was more than impressed.
No doubt Uzalo fans are still drooling over Shauwn Mkhize‘s acting dexterities despite a lot of sceptics towards her debut. It seems viewers are already in love with the businesswoman’s new character and they await her to serve more of her flair on tonight’s episode.
