This video confirms the existence of the mine and since then people have been going to KZN. The alleged diamond rush has caused concerns with the Provincial Government being among parties that are worried about the illegal mining activities in the area.

The Provincial Government spokesperson Lennox Mabaso says the authorities have been notified of this and the provincial government ordered the department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs to take the matter to the National Department of Minerals and Energy.

Many people want to go and this can be seen by the comments on social media. Others are happy and think Mother Nature finally heard the cries from the people. However, the same public is scared the government will shut the operations which will affect the locals negatively. Her are some of their concerns:

I’m happy for the people of KwaHlathi, but knowing my government shuuuu

Is Mother Nature finally looking out for us??

I won’t be surprised if this government goes and restrict the community from continue mining the diamonds.
