Lock down extension impending: Government
Health experts in Zimbabwe are recommending the extension of the lock down to curb the spread of corona virus.
The 30 day strict lock down is supposed to end next week on the 4th of February 2021. The vice chairman of the Ad-Hoc Inter Ministerial task force on COVID-19 Professor Amon Murwira said they will carefully consider the extension of the lock down. Reporting to The Herald he said,
“The lock down extension will be considered. The efforts of Zimbabweans should be thanked because the lock down is holding the spread of the virus. The cases are going down but we have to be patient and hold on. We also thank our health workers and security personnel for an excellent job. We believe we will win this war. “
The extension of the strict movement and gathering of people controls the spread of COVID-19. The death rate is now starting to decline which shows that the stern enforcement of lock down regulations is working.
