KZN Pastor shot dead outside Anglican Church in Hambanathi, Tongaat
A 50-year-old Anglican Pastor was shot outside his church in Hambanathi, Tongaat, and North of Durban.
Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at a house adjacent to the Anglican Church.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said the paramedics were called to the scene of the shooting.
“A full advanced life-support resuscitation was initiated but the patient’s condition rapidly deteriorated and he sadly succumbed,” said Herbst.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Col Thembeka Mbele said police were investigating a case of murder.
The Hambanathi community come into spotlight in May after Andile Bobo Mbuthu was murdered for stealing alcohol at Magagula hotel.
Bobo’s body was later retrieved from a nearby Newton river and suspects were arrested.
