Andile Mchunu Bobo found dead, body discovered in Newton River. South Africans sign petition to Bheki Cele

Andile Mchunu Bobo from Hambanathi, Tongaat was found dead. The 16 year old was reported missing a week ago. In a sad development that shocked South Africa, a video of Andile Mchunu “Bobo” being beaten soaked by blood surfaced hence calls for Justice for Bobo intensified.

As it appears in the video, Andile Mchunu died due to excessive bleeding and his body was found in Newton River in Tongaat. The boy who recorded the video Luyanda Mshana is believed to have confessed about Bobo’s murder to his parents who reported the matter to the police.

Justice calls for Andile Mchunu Bobo gathers momentum

A petition  calls of Justice for Bobo gathers momentum on Change.org.

Started by Sbongiseni Mkhize , the petition is directed to the South African Minister of the Police Bheki Cele. So far 6 000 people have signed the petition.

Andile Mchunu (Bobo) was beaten by a group of men for allegedly stealing alcohol and money.

His sister came to fetch him after it was reported that he was being beaten but she was told to go fetch him some clothes and when she came back from fetching the clothes she was told that Andile has escaped. Which is hard to believe because a video of him unconscious has been circulating and a person in his state would’ve never been able to escape. And now the boy is nowhere to be found. As a community of Hambanathi we need justice to be served for Andile Mchunu (Bobo)
