Emtee was born in Eastern Cape on 15 September 1992. He grew up in Soweto, one of Gauteng province’s major townships.
He moved to Johannesburg to further his career. Form then he has a lot of admiration for the City of Joburg as it is where he made a name from. He signed for Midrand based Ambitiouz Entertainment record label whilst he stayed in Johannesburg. He would drive 25 kms from Johannesburg to Midrand to record his music.
