The boxing match between Hip hop artist Cassper Nyovest and Hip Hop commentator Slik Talk is finally happening. After a month of exchanging insults and publicly ridiculing one another, Cassper and Slik will settle their beef in the ring.
How Slik Talk stepped on Cassper Nyovest’s toes
The little known commentator drew the attention of the just crowned Hip hop artist of the decade after he criticized his show, Braai Show with Cass, for being the worst show he has ever watched. He claims he decided to tune in to the show as he felt he was the only one watching it. No one watched the show, Slik Talk said of Cassper’s latest TV offering.
Slik labelled Cassper as a bad presenter doing a terrible job, sharted by rival Hip Hop artist Aka.

He watched the episode Cassper hosted influencer Mihlali and saw nothing interesting. “I was like, where is the real show,” he queried. He instructed his fans not to watch the show as it was not worth the time.
Slik did not end on attacking Cassper’s show but zeroed on Cassper’s reputation of delivering bad products. He started on the album he dropped this year, claiming he never reviews his music as there is nothing to analyse. He also belittled Cassper, claiming he contributed ten per cent of his song Siyathandana.

He, however, praised Cassper’s ability to market bad products until they become successful.
Cassper Nyovest’s response to Slik Talk
In typical Cassper fashion, he challenged Slik to a fight. Slik quickly agreed to settle it in the ring but directed Cassper to communicate to him via another Hip Hop analyst popularly known as Nota Baloyi. Cassper refused the bureaucracy, suspecting Nota would make the fight about himself and not Slik talk or Cassper. A few weeks of negotiations ensured, and Cassper announced the news on Monday.
The Fight
The Cassper Nyovest and Slik Talk fight will take place on 22 December 2021. Cassper had confirmed the date, but he did not specify the venue.
