South African actor Wiseman Mncube is famously known for playing the role of Sbonelo Mhlongo on Uzalo. In Uzalo, the Sbonelo character is the son of Nkunzi (Masoja Msiza) and Gabisile (Baby Cele). A qualified medical doctor who traded the stethoscope for a criminal life, Sbonelo was once embroiled in a polygamous marriage.

Ruthless and cunning as his father, Sbonelo is the heir to the Mhlongo family business; he, however, spends much of his time trying to move out of Nkunzi’s shadow. Over the Uzalo storyline, Sbonelo, with the help of Nkunzi, stayed on top of situations and always had instant solutions to problems. Being feared among the criminal ecosystem of KwaMashu and having a police force on their payroll, the Mhlongo family thrived on fear and intimidation. Sbonelo’s downfall was handed over by a mysterious woman who appeared in his life, the seemingly business-minded entrepreneur trapped Sbonelo into their rivals’ claws, the Magwaza family.
He exited the show after leaving KwaMashu to strategize and get back at his enemies, the Njinji-led Magwaza family.

King Zwide in Shaka Ilembe
The 2020 SAFTA Best Actor Award Winner Wiseman Mncube enjoyed success in 2022; after building an R3.5 million mansion, he hogged the headlines when he purchased an R1.5 million BMW car.
Wiseman Mncube left Uzalo to join the Shaka Ilembe cast, where he is set to play the role of King Zwide. The Bomb Productions, Shaka Ilembe drama series is about the infamous Zulu king, Sgidi kaSenzangakhona, commonly known as King Shaka and is set to be aired in 2023.
Vika Rabede in Valley of a Thousand Hills
Wiseman joins the Valley of a Thousand Hills cast, where he plays the role of Vika Radebe, a high-ranking soldier in the military. The firstborn child of Mr Radebe and Zodwa Radebe, Vika was forced into an arranged marriage with his sister’s girlfriend, Nosipho. Vika was abusive towards his wife.
Speaking about his Uzalo exit, Wiseman revealed that Uzalo opened doors for him, and he needed to experience a different work environment with a unique storyline.
