In a bizarre and unfortunate incident at the Miss South Africa 2022 pageant, former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi’s bodyguard blocked the musician Makhadzi from engaging with her. Makhadzi spotted Zozibini and wanted to have a brief conversation with her. Luckily she managed to get a brief greeting and a small hug. That was until the bodyguard pushed Makhadzi away.
After Zozibini passed, Advocate Thuli Madonsela met Makhadzi and got a brief hug and greeting just like with the former Miss Universe. The bodyguards were also escorting the advocate but they didn’t attempt to stop Makhadzi from hugging her.
Many fans of Makhadzi however noted how the singer looked starstruck and humbled by the presence of these two women. She was clearly smitten and happy, the genuinely of her smile said it all despite getting snubbed by the bodyguard. When he pushed her away she merely respected the order but her aura was still absorbed in that order.
Why did Zozi’s bodyguard treat Makhadzi this way?
Some people are insinuating the bodyguard belittled Makhadzi and treated her like a nobody. It is not secret that Makhadzi is one of the biggest and most talented artists in Mzansi. Some tweeps feel as if the bodyguard should’ve treated Makhadzi just like any other important public figure.
Some Tweeps noted Zozibini is a former Miss South Africa pageant winner and was a judge at the event. Judges may be forbidden from meeting people to keep the former winners in a state of sheer focus and on time.
Makhadzi did not complain about the incident but the video has since gone viral on social media.
The African Queen put up an electric performance at the event with her hit some MaGear keeping the audience on their toes. She is having yet another great year after capping 2021 with an album and a number of awards. She received a heroes’ welcome at OR Tambo airport a few days ago when she flew in from her Europe and Canada tour.
On the other hand, Zozi concluded her duty as a judge by crowning Tzaneen-born Ndavi Nokeri as Miss South Africa 2022.
