In Pictures: Uzalo actor Njeza ‘Nkanyiso Makhanya’ shows off his expensive car.
Nkanyiso Makhanya plays the role of Njeza in SABC 1 and Mzansi hit soapie opera Uzalo. In Uzalo, the Njeza role is an ex-convict and older brother of Nonkanyiso (Thuthuka Mthembu), MaDongwe’s nephew and Lily’s cousin brother. Along with the storyline, Njeza had a relationship with Zekhethelo and his sister’s friend Hleziphi who dumped him after stealing a large sum of money.
Njeza belongs to the poverty-stricken Xulu family of KwaMashu known for crime and abuse; he spends the rest of his live trying to change the poverty narrative.
For a school dropout, Njeza doesn’t miss a chance to make quick money through illegal means; he is a foot soldier of the Mhlongo family and is involved in car hijacking and money/jewellery heists.
Despite positive family efforts to change their family lives, Njeza was arrested for Gender-Based Violence after physically abusing his then-girlfriend Nosipho, a crime that will see him locked away for years.
