Hleziphi from Uzalo’s real name is Sibongiseni Shezi she was born on 17 March 1993 in KwaZulu Natal and is 28 years old. Hleziphi joined Uzalo as a supporting act until she obtained a lead role on the SABC 1 soapie.

Sibongiseni Shezi is a University Graduate who holds two qualifications, a Degree in Music from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Live Performance Cum Laude from AFDA.

On Uzalo, Shezi plays the role of Hleziphi an unapologetic character who doesn’t conform to what people think. She started off as a vindictive high school student who wasn’t scared to commit a crime in support of her then-fiancé Njeza role played by Nkanyiso Makhanya. Hleziphi’s character has grown from a school kid to a fully grown young woman on Uzalo.

Currently signed with Star Quality Management Agency, Shezi appeared in, Uzalo, Sean Penn’s The Last Dance – Film, RCL Foods Corporate.

Sibongiseni Shezi’s first career 

Sibongiseni Shezi was destined to be a Ballet dancer it was her first love which she started at a tender age, her ballet skills were extraordinary, and her flexibility was unquestionable till tragedy happened. In 2015 Hleziphi was involved in a car accident that ruined her ballet dancing career and birthed her acting career.
