Nadia Nakai has recently been making big moves in her career and private life despite all the drama that follows her on social media. The rapper is usually unproblematic and focuses her energy on her grind and career. Today she has put South Africa on the map again as she was nominated for an Award at the BET Hip Hop Awards show.
Nadia Nakai’s BET nomination
The rapper has been nominated for an award under the category Best International flow award. Nadia has been nominated for the Award together with fellow South African rapper Blxckie. Other rappers like Benjamin Epps from France, Black Sheriff from Ghana, Haviah Mighty from Canada, Knucks from the UK, Le Juice from France, and Tasha and Tracie from Brazil have been nominated for this prestigious Award.
The show will be held on 30 September in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Perfoming Arts centre and shown on BET channel on 5 October at 3 am Central African times. Fat Joe is this year’s host of the show, and rappers like Drake, Kanye West, and Kendrick Lamar have the most nominations at this year’s Award show.
Nadia’s music career
The rapper is known as the queen of collaborations, and she usually collaborates with other rappers on her songs or theirs. Some even say that she does not make great songs on her own but slays on a feature. Despite all that, she is one of the best female rappers in Mzansi and deserves the recognition the BET Awards are finally giving her.
The Naa mean hitmaker recently moved away from Cassper Nyovest’s family tree music recording label to start her own called Bragga. She has promised her fans an album soon under her record label, and recently she has been featured on several tracks. Many of her fans believe that her relationship with AKA is improving her lyrical content, and they can not wait to hear the songs she releases for the promised album.
Awards that she has won before
Nadia Nakai has been nominated for the most prestigious Hip Hop Awards in South Africa, which are the South African Hip Hop Awards and won. She has also gone on to win Awards on a higher level in Africa at the AFRIMA Awards for her music. Her song with Cassper Nyovest Naa Mean put her on the map and made her a household name.
