However, its woes have seen the drama series losing some of its star-studded cast in the mix of things. Here is a list of actors who dumped Scandal for greener pastures.
Hungani Ndlovu as Romeo Medupe
Hungani Ndlovu dumped the drama series after he was rumoured to be joining the cast of Blackish. In the mix of things, it was also revealed that Hungani Ndlovu left Scandal after having a fallout with the showrunners. Rumour mill had it that the showrunners didn’t appreciate him despite being the face of the drama series.
In the wake of his exit, the drama series had a slump in views. At Scandal, he was rumoured to be one of the most paid actors with an estimated take-home salary of at least R85 000 per month.

She played the on-screen character of Yvonne. However, when she went off-screen it was reported that she was leaving on a temporary basis but she has since joined The Legacy.

Lusanda Mbane as Boniswa Langa
She is that might villain we all love to hate. Despite playing a villainous on-screen character of Boniswa Langa, she wowed Mzansi with her unmatched talent. However, after five years on the show, she finally bowed out in style.
After her exit, the seasoned actress was spotted at Imbewu: The Seed set. Rumour has it that she is one of the seasoned casts that will be bolstering the cast of Imbewu in the wake of the mass exodus.
Patrick Mofokeng as Mlungisi Ngema
Despite being part of the star-studded cast of Scandal, Patrick Mofokeng, who played Mlungisi Ngema, dumped his character for a lead role on 1Magic telenovela Lingashoni.
In the drama series, he plays the character, Mandla Cele. However, Mpfokeng stars, along with a star-studded cast that includes Thuli Thabethe and Thato Molamu.
Masasa Mbangeni as Thembeka Shezi
She left Scandal when we needed her most. Actress Masasa Mbangeni played the villainous role of Thembeka Shezi. However, she exited the drama series after being shot at point-blank by Mthunzi Mayisa character by award-winning actor Bongile Mantsai. However, in the wake of her exit, she has joined several screenplays, including The River.
Cindy Mahlangu as Violeta
Cindy Mahlangu came with a bang and bowed out in style as he bounced back to her Siyanda role on The Queen. On Scandal, she was cast as Violeta, and she wowed Mzansi with her unmatched talent. However, a few months down the line, she switched her allegiance to Ferguson Films; she marked her return to the Mzansi Magic.
