Former Generations The Legacy Buyile Mdladla plays the role of Phumlani Ndaba on Gomora. The Phumlani character is a younger brother to the late Mbongeni Ndaba, but his aura points out trouble. He has a mysterious character and behaviour, he conceals his intentions, but he is interested in Thathi (Katlego Danke), his late brother’s wife.
Visibly loaded with money, Phumlani bribed Bongani (Thulani Mtsweni) to learn about Thathi and her private life. Bongani detailed how Thathi and Melusi (Zolisa Xaluva) were involved in a love triangle and how she carries on her daily life. He arrived at Thathi’s residence, and something was doggy about his presence. His conversation with Thathi indicated that Phumlani is Buhle’s (Ama Qamata) biological father; the two had a private affair behind Mbongeni’s back.

Phumlani’s sudden reappearance in Thathi’s life invoked speculation about his mission. Is he after Thathi’s heart, or it’s an absent father who has come to take his daughter? His desperation to gain Buhle’s attention and set the best life for her shows he feels guilty for being absent. He splashed thousands of rands in donations to Gomora High and told Principal Melusi Dlamini that he’s Buhle’s father.
He was previously labelled the bad boy of the acting industry; forty-six-year-old Buyile Mdladla hogged the headlines for wrong reasons in 2012. He was caught pants down after trapping and advancing towards young aspiring actress and model Kimberleigh Khune, who he met on Facebook.
Buyile was reprimanded for sending Kimberleigh inappropriate images and videos. The scandal left Phumlani’s marriage shacking as his wife Carol Mdladla filed for divorce. The estranged ex-wife of Gomora actor star Buyile Mdladla painted the suave actor as an abusive cheating scum who treated her and their marriage with no respect.
