Zethu Dlomo is one of the most talented actresses to hit South African screens. Her passion for the job is shown in her craft. Lera in Scandal is a woman who once dated Gugu Kubeka but left her for another girl. Lera tries to get back together with Gugu, but Gugu’s family disapproves. Gugu only gets back with Lera after their family company runs out of money and need a loan. Lera, who works for a bank, helps them get one even though they do not qualify for a loan. Gugu’s heart is not in the relationship, and she just wanted to use Lera. Lera’s guilt from the past makes her too blind to see it.
Zethu was born in Lenasia, in Gauteng Province but was raised in Soweto. She went to the National School of Arts before attending the University of Witwatersrand. Zethu is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Dramatic Arts. She discovered her passion for being an actress at a young age, and she pursued that.
Zethu Dlomo’s Acting career
The 32-year-old actress’s debut in the acting industry came in 2008 when she landed a role in the international hit series Number one ladies detective agency Baone Magasane. That was not the only International production she was featured in, as, in 2014, she played a pregnant slave called in Sanu in CBC and BET’s Book of Negroes. In 2015 she played Madi in the third up to the fourth season of Black Sails, which earned her international recognition.

In the local entertainment scene, she has landed huge roles, The first being Alice Kunene in Room 9 between 2012 and 2013. She was in three movies between 2013 and 2014; she was in Mary and Martha, Fanie Fourie’s Lobola, and Leading Lady. After that, Zethu landed the role of Sibongile in Ayeye then her next gig in the local scene happened in 2017 on Isibaya. She was cast in two films as Winnie Mandela, Mandela’s gun and Hotel on the Koppies. SABC1’s Amazing Grace in 2020 and Erased were her following jobs before she landed the one of Lera on Scandal.
