In Pictures, Durban Gen actor ‘Dr Dlamini’ Meshack Mavuso’s age and business empire get Mzansi talking.

Meshack Mavuso has been gracing our screens on several Television shows over the years. The actor is famously known for his role in Duban Gen playing Dr Dlamini. He plays the role of a surgeon who sleeps around, and his family breaks because of his decisions.

Meshack Mavuso is a celebrated actor on the small screen as he has played several roles on the small screen. He landed his fame when he got the part in Yizo Yizo playing Javas, and he became a household name. After that role, he secured a role in Isidingo, a soapie that was loved by many on Television, and he played Vusi Moletsane. Later, he landed a role portraying Chair Person on the TV Production called Heist.

When Meshack saw that his career as a minor screen actor was not making his ends meet, he turned to Theatre productions. The actor was featured in a lot of shows in the theatre. He says that was his first love before Television, so he took a sabbatical off-screen and went for years doing theatre alone. His comeback to the small screen was on Durban Gen playing Thabo Dlamini.

However, Mavuso did not leave the theatre when he came back on the small screen. At the end of 2021, the actor produced a play called Shaka Zulu, which was shown in theatres. Many celebrities went and supported this production. The actor who has once opened up about hitting hard times with his family whereby his house almost got repossessed is now at a balance and making it in the acting industry.

Meshack also doubles up as a director and recently directed several episodes on Durban Gen when his character was in rehab. Being a director is a milestone in his career and he wishes to direct more shows in the near future. The actor was born in 1977 which makes him 44years old. The actor has amassed a lot of prominence and respect from his fellow actors because of his experience.
