It is without a doubt that both Patrick Mofokeng and Jerry Mofokeng are great actors that are sought after because of their talent. The actors have been on the set of Scandal during the same time. Despite their surnames, the two have almost the same facial features, including skin shade and head shape. Their fans can not help but wonder if these two actors are related in real life.
Patrick Mofokeng played the role of Mlungisi Ngema, a man from the townships with two beautiful daughters. He is also married but has demons from his past threatening his family and marriage. At one point, he even had an affair with their tenant, who used her muthi on him. Under the influence of the herbs, Mlungisi throws his wife out of the house, but his daughters disown him in return picking their mother’s side.
Mlungisi was helped, and he made peace with his family and children. However, he suspects his son-in-law of being a criminal though he said he reformed. After following Nhlamulo to the river, he witnesses him take out blood money, and they have a fight which leads to his death. Lindiwe helps her husband cover his tracks and dumps Mlungisi’s body in the river. This marked Patrick’s exit from the soapie.

On the other hand, after battling cancer and going through treatment, Neo Mokheti had his criminal past catch up with him. His son, a police officer, shoots and kills his superior in the force because he was abusing the woman he loved. After witnessing this show of love, Neo takes the fall for his son and lies that he was the one who pulled the shot. This sends him to prison, but he is happy while protecting his son.
The two actors have shown two strong fathers who want what’s best for their children. This is not the only thing they have in common; they also have similar surnames in real life. However, despite a respectful industry brotherhood, the two are not related by blood. They share the same surname as many other entertainers in the limelight. Dr Jerry Mofokeng also searched for his roots at 60 years of age and is not a Mofokeng by blood but a Makhetha.
