Imbewu’s Ngcolosi (Tony Kgoroge) joins 7de Laan
Tony Kgoroge who is known for portraying Zimele “Ngcolosi” Bhengu on e.tv’s soap, Imbewu: The Seed, has joined SABC 2 soapie 7de Laan.
In the SABC 2 soapie, Kgoroge portrays the role of a mysterious man who is discovered by Nozi played by Dimpho More, on social media. The character who has not been named yet is offering to be the former Oppiekoffie waitress’s official blesser.
In the episode that the two met, the mysterious man offered Nozi money in exchange for her time and company. When Nozi questions why he enjoys giving young women money, Kgoroge’s character reveals that even though he is married and loves his wife dearly, he occasionally enjoys the company of young women.
In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, 7de Laan said Kgoroge is not expected to be on the show permanently and will appear in a few episodes.
Kgoroge is a seasoned actor who has appeared in a number of television shows. He appeared in the first seasons of Gaz’lam from 2002-2003 as Jimi. Kgoroge was part of the Zero Tolerance 2004 series. He has also appeared in a number of films that include, Hijack Stories, Hotel Rwanda, Lord of War, Gums and Noses, The Bird Can’t Fly, Blood Diamond, Invictus, Skin, and The First Grader.
Viewers know him for his recent appearance in Imbewu: The Seed as Zimele “Ngcolosi” Bhengu. He left the show reportedly over an issue to do with salaries. Reports state that he had approached the producers of the show demanding an increase. When they failed to meet his demand he left the show.
