The Queen actor Darlington ‘Getmore Sithole’s age leaves Mzansi in disbelief
He has been making all sorts of headlines with his Darlington on-screen character on The Queen. Getmore Sithole is a celebrated Zimbabwean-born South African actor.
The seasoned actor was thrust into the limelight with his recurring gig on SABC1’s drama series Generations. His debut gig came in the backdrop of Generations gig in 2000. However, in 2002 he was cast Backstage and starred as detective ‘Dikobo’. He was feared and mighty, and his unmatched talent saw him being cast as ‘Detective Ditini’ in Jozi Streets.
Of interest is that he bagged a similar role on Rhythm City but as ‘Advocate Maponya’. In 2003, he made all sorts of headlines when he starred in the French-inspired film Le Lion.
In the backdrop of her film debut, he joined the star-studded cast of etvs drama series Scandal in 2005 as ‘Cain Gumede’. The drama series then became one of the most-watched soap operas in Mzansi. From there, his next stop was on The Wild as ‘Joseph Sithole’.

The Queen actor Darlington ‘Getmore Sithole’s age gets Mzansi talking
He has been winning big from Intersexions to Mzansi’s Magic drama series The Queen. He stars as a cunning and over-ambitious enemy of Harriet Khoza. However, despite his on-screen character backlash, he has fast become that star actor we all love to hate as he nails his storyline like never before.
On-screen, he has wowed Mzansi with his flair. He got Mzansi talking when he commanded his muggers to beat Khumo to distance him from the Olerato character played by Lorraine Moropa. And his plan worked well. Darlington wants to use Olerato as a link to the Khoza’s drug supply.
In the wake of his newfound fame on Blood & Water, Mzansi wondered how old the actor could be. It seems as if he is older than we all thought. Well, the celebrated actor was born on 3 June 1964 in Zimbabwe. He has an illustrious career spanning two decades. The 57-year old has fast become one of Mzansi’s finest.
Rumour has it that the actor takes home between R50 000-R65 000 per month for his Darlington on-screen character. However, actors’ salaries are determined by time on scenes, role prominence, and experience.
