2023 has been a difficult year for South Africans as they were robbed of their favourite musicians and entertainers. The year 2023 started on a bad note, and many are left with many questions about why SA celebrities are dying unapologetically without warning. AKA- 10 February 2023
The South African rapper, ‘AKA’ Kiernan Forbes, was shot dead in Durban Florida Road. Another person believed to be AKA’s bodyguard was also wounded, while another unidentified person, understood to be a close friend of AKA, was shot dead.
According to social media reports, AKA was due to perform at Durban nightclub YUGO where he was expected to perform as part of his birthday celebrations. The sad development came to light after a Twitterati @LuSomethings took to Twitter with a video alleging that AKA, (Keirnan Forbes) had been gunned down.

Costa Titch- 11 March 2023
On the night of March 11th, 2023, the music world was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of South African rapper and amapiano star Costa Titch. The 26-year-old artist collapsed on stage while performing at the Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa. The cause of his death is unknown, and fans and fellow musicians worldwide are mourning the loss of a rising star in the music industry.

The 41-year-old was shot and killed in Durban alongside his long-time friend and rapper, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, on the 10th of February 2023

He was gunned down outside Legentsheng in Soshanguve. His death follows that of amapiano musician and businessman DJ Sumbody, who was also shot multiple times and killed in November last year. Akasia police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello said a case of murder was being investigated
