FOUND! Former Generations: The Legacy actor Smanga Moroka has a new career
South African actor Moopi Mothibeli played the role of Smanga Moroka on Generations The Legacy. The soapie’s fans expected his return in June after Generations Teasers mentioned that his brother Mazwi gets floored to hear what happened to Smanga’s car.
In 2020 Smanga was offered to resign from the Generations cast due to onset struggles; the show producers revealed that he struggled with the male abuse storyline he was involved in.
Moopi struggled with the newly given storyline, which involved him being in an abusive relationship with Zitha Langa, played by actress Zoe Mthiyane.
Moopi Mothibeli looks done and dusted with the acting life; he ever since decided to follow his childhood dream, telling the African story through photography.
“Storytelling has been my childhood dream; I am privileged to have told the African story on and off the television. Now that I have decided to follow my photography dream, I wish to continue telling the same African story differently,” said Mothibeli.
Qualified with a Degree in Drama and Performing Arts from the Tshwane University of Technology, Moopi is currently studying for a Masters in Fine Arts at Ohio State University. He seeks to merge photography and film directing.
Ever since leaving Generations The Legacy, Moopi played a role on Hotele Lerallaneng, a film directed by Charlie Vundla the son of veteran film producer Mfundi Vundla.

Will fans have a chance to see Smanga Moroka on Generations: The Legacy again?
Smanga left Generations to find a new life in the United Kingdom, where his aunt Karabo Moroka lives. He left behind his daughter and #Ezweni business interests; being a potential Moroka heir is enough reason for Smangaliso to return to our screens. With Kabisi Moroka having a kidney problem scare and Mazwi not interested in the Moroka Empire, the Moroka clan is likely to turn their attention to Smangaliso.
