FIRED UNITED: A look at actors who were fired from Gomora, where they are now
Sometimes the drama behind the scenes of your favourite telenovela is more exciting than the storylines on screen. Acting and producing attract big egos, often leading to severe conflicts, even on hit shows making the network and the producers lots of money. Here is a look at actors fired from Gomora for lousy behaviour or disagreements with co-stars and producers.
Many faces have vanished from Gomora, leaving Mzansi wondering where they disappeared. Although they treat each other as a family participating in dance challenges and celebrating each other’s wins, the showrunners of Gomora don’t tolerate bad behaviour. Gomora is not a place for games; if one misbehaves, they will send you home without thinking twice.
A look at actors who were fired from Gomora for different reasons
Bukiwe Keva aka Asanda
The actress played the character of Asanda, a bully Gomora High student. She was a tyrant who used to make life a living hell for Sbosh and her friends. However, Bukiwe Keva later bowed from the show when she was fired via Whatsapp text after failing to appear for work. As Gomora viewers were still not believing the news that Asanda was demoted from her job, her unpleasant character and quickly replaced by Zaza (Nondumiso Tshabalala).
Moshe Ndiki aka Mr Faku
The flamboyant Mr Faku top trended on social media after the news that he was fired from Gomora immediately went viral. Moshe Ndiki was involved in a catfight with Twitter entertainment blogger Musa Kwawula; his violent act cost him his job. The Gomora showrunners decided to fire him as he tarnished their image as a den of savages.
On Gomora, he was a Gomora high school English teacher who had lost his luxurious life in Sandton to his gambling addiction. He moved to Gomora to find refuge and cohabitate with Gladys, the wife of his cousin Melusi. Adapting to the low life in Gomora was hard for him, but he was slowly coping, and Mzansi loved to hate his comic character.
Pakamisa Zwedala aka Qhoqhoqho
Qhoqhoqho’s character was recently killed on Gomora by MaSonto. Rumours have it that he was fired after he asked for a salary increase. His request did not sit well with the producers of Gomora, and they had to let him go.
The writers of Gomora wanted to introduce new villains and decided to send Pakamisa Zwedala home. Well, it looks like his brutal character was replaced by Zibuko (Senzo Radebe). However, other sources say he was not fired, but his character was written off as it was irrelevant.
