When OUTsurance said chencha daideng, they meant it literally. It appears, regardless of the overwhelming support Katlego Maboe received from fans, the personality will not be returning to our favourite ads. Katlego Maboe has officially been replaced by Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp on OUTsurance ads.
OUTsurance has officially announced Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp as their new brand ambassador. “I have worked with OUTsurance for many years as an ad hoc MC and voice-over artist. I’ve always enjoyed working with their team and admire their vision and approach to marketing and how they connect with their clients,” the media personality said.
Elana Afrika is a media personality and mumpreneur whose brand, Baby Brunch SA, a support network for moms, has become a hit with parents across South Africa. Elana is also an actress and a radio host. With a show on Jacarandi FM, Elana has also worked with 5FM and KFM. The actress has also featured on Sara se Geheim and Fynskrif. She has also presented Afskaal on kykNET, Expresso Morning Show and The Road to Miss South Africa.
The year began with hope for Katlego Maboe and his fans as the “Bring Back Katlego Maboe” petition received 74 600 signatures as at a our last report.
Katlego Maboe lost grace with OUTsurance last year in October when his cheating scandal broke the news alongside allegations of abuse. Further revelations that he had had sexual relations with a competitor of a brand he was working with further ruined his reputation. Days after the cheating incident, tweeps made it clear they had forgiven Katlego and that OUTsurance should do the same and bring him back. The petition that was started gave hope to many but alas, Katlego Maboe may have just reached the end of his road with OUTsurance.
Clearly, OUTsurance takes their catch phrase, chencha daideng seriously!
