The series tells a story of an intern doctor, Mbali Mthethwa played by Nelisiwe Sibiya. She relocates to Durban in a bid to complete her final year of community service at Durban General Hospital. She finds herself caught in between two men. Her fiancé Sibusiso Dlamini (Ntando Mncube) and her superior Dr. Lindelani Zulu (Mike Ndlangamadla).
Subsequent to her arrival, she scrubs in an insecure surgery that results in the death of an MEC. Threatening the reputation of the hospital, Dr. Zulu and Mbali are involved in an investigation that almost leads to the demise of Mbali’s career.
More drama has unfolded since with some actors leaving the show like Fanele Zulu who played the role of Dr Mchunu. His character is killed off in an emotional scene where he tries to rescue Dr Zulu’s daughter who was held hostage by a thug.
