Subject: Show Proposal: Dinner kwa Somizi
Hi Somizi and Themba,
Trust you’re in good spirits. I’ve had a TV show idea since 2010 but have not had the chance to try materializing it. Please receive this an expression of interest to partner up with you on the idea. I’ve not done a show before, though I am confident that between us we have a database of the right people to bring this to life. Kindly see below.
Dinner kwa Somizi
Dinner kwa Somizi is a weekly lifestyle and entertainment talk show that sees South African all-round entertainer Somizi Mhlongo chats to fellow entertainers over dinner. Each 24 minute-long episode captures the drama that goes into preparing each meal as Somizi and his guest sweat it up in the kitchen before the actual seat down. In a true Somizi style, the show is quirky and light-hearted. Somizi, famous for not mincing his words, asks each of his guests the questions on everyone’s mind that no one has ever dared to ask in a witty manner without offending them.
This 13 episode will have a star-studded guest-list of some of the most topical names in entertainment telling their stories in a never-seen-before light. The guests will be an eclectic mix of the idols and icons, the new kids as well as the not-so-new kids of the SA showbiz.
Possible guests:
AKA. Denise Zimba, Dineo Ranaka, Itumeleng Khune, Jamie Bartlett, Lilian Dube, Malinda Barn, Minnie, Mshoza, Phat Joe, Sade, V-Mash, Zandi Nhlapo, Zolani, Maholwa.
Mam’ Mary Twala (Especially for the last episode, an exit with a bang!)
*This is shot in a studio (not Somizi”s house) and since there’s a cooking element we can even attempt to get a sponsor who’s product will be the omnipresent ingredient.
If you are keen let’s please engage further…
Regards Hastings
South Africans are not impressed by Somizi
The way this thing happens almost every day, I plead with my black fellows to register and trademark their ideas before pitching them to the production houses. I’m impressed that at least this time the proposal looks like a proper proposal instead of the ones we’ve been seeing which just happen to be a paragraph on an email but it has to be protected properly as well. When there were stories that Casper trademarked #FillUp we laughed about it but his intention was to protect himself from this kind of situation.
They must pay him!! 😠😠😠🤬🤬 N he must be made the senior producer of the show. These celebrities are irritating. They want to take credit for EVERYTHING and leave no space for “nobodies” that are just to penetrate the market. I wish he and the show get sued like the vodacom please-call-me sued Vodacom.
