Umkhokha has fast become one of the most-watched drama series in South Africa since its debut in October. The series is well decorated with some of the acting industry’s finest, and the finesse in which they bring the storyline to life is second to none. However, it is met with great sadness that actress Kwezi Ndlovu ‘Nobuntu’ has announced that she is leaving the faith-based drama series.
Kwezi Ndlovu has taken to Instagram to show her gratitude to Mzansi Magic and Umkhokha for giving her the opportunity to bring the character, Nobuntu to life. She speaks of how her character has suffered through depression. Kwezi says to fans of the show that they should all pray Nobuntu makes it because only she can stop her mother.

In the drama series, Nobuntu, the second daughter of Mamzobe and Phakhatwayo, has faced many challenges. Nobuntu has suffered the loss of her older sister because of Mamzobe’s selfish intentions. Her character’s only dream was to gain her mother’s pride while not succumbing to her evil ways. Nobuntu carried the burden of knowing all her mother’s evil deeds, but her hands were tied, and she could not do anything to help all the other people she loved.

How they have written off actress Kwezi Ndlovu ‘Nobuntu’ from Umkhokha
Recently Nobuntu had befriended her late sister’s boyfriend, and together they were trying to stop Mamzobe. However, all their plans were met with massive roadblocks. In the last episode, Nobuntu refuses to accept her mother’s order to go to Mabusi’s place and poison Busi and her husband, Sphamandla. Mamzobe kicked her out of the house and made it impossible for Nobuntu to seek refuge anywhere else. She used muti to curse her and make her smell so badly that no one could stand being around her.

When Nobuntu finds that she had to comply with her mother. She tries to poison her sister and brother in law, but she is caught. The shame is too much for her that she drinks the poison meant for the two lovers and collapses at the end of the episode.
