Kings of Joburg is a Netflix six-part drama series created and produced by Shona Ferguson and is co-produced by Samad Davis of the American based production house Visionary Media Inc.
The drama series Kings of Joburg is centered on elements of love, family, conflict, power, and the major question of why one should be a brother’s keeper.
World movies streaming giant Netflix announced that they will be streaming Kings of Joburg which premieres on Friday, 4 December 2020.
The series is written by Linda Bere (Igazi, Unmarried) and Sabelo Mgidi (Silverton Siege).

Shona Ferguson
Shona Ferguson plays the role of Simon “Vader” Masire a member of the Kings of Joburg (KOJ) brotherhood and the eldest of his siblings who has a dark secret.
Zolisa Xaluva
Popular for his roles in The Queen and Generations, Zolisa Xaluva plays the role of Simon’s younger brother Mogomotsi “Mo”, a conflicted ex-convict, torn between his loyalty to his crime family, brother, and the life he wants to live.
Buhle Samuels
The Muvhango and Imbewu actress Buhle Samuels plays Angela, Simon’s wife Angela in Kings of Joburg.

“When I created Kings of Jo’burg I wanted to root the show in elements of love, family, conflict, and power.
The premise of the series is centered around the question, ‘Am I my brother’s keeper?’ and this narrative is explored in all 6 episodes.The mystical and thriller side of the story is inspired by the folk tales that I grew up learning about from my late father, Peter Harry Ferguson.
These stories kept me up at night and gave me nightmares but I had to bring them to life in a tale of human conflict.
