Burna Boy attended Montessori International Primary School in Port Harcourt, River State from 1998 to 2002 where he earned his First school Leaving certificate. He then proceeded to Corona Secondary School in Lagos, Nigeria where he finished in 2008 and got the West African Senior School certificate. The same year Burna Boy co-founded a musical band at Corona Secondary School named ‘Def Code’ which gave a historic performance at the 50th Anniversary of Corona Schools. After completing Secondary education, the African giant enrolled himself at the University of Sussex in United Kingdom studying Media Technology from 2008 – 2009. Furthermore, he studied Communications and Culture at the Oxford Brooke’s University in United Kingdom. Early years
The African super star began his professional career in 2010 and rose to stardom in 2012 after the release of his hit single ‘Like to party‘ taken off his debut studio album L.I.F.E. At that time he had been signed by Aristokrat records. Mid career
In February 2015 Burna Boy formed his own record label ‘Spaceship Entertainment’. He released his 2nd album ‘On a spaceship‘ under his own label the same year and proceeded to record an EP title ‘Redempltion’ in 2016. The year 2017 maked a tun around for Burna Boy as he was signed to Atlantic Records in USA. In 2018 the afro-fusion boss released his third album title ‘Outside’ which instantly made him an International superstar. Packed with hits such as ‘sekkle down and ‘rock your body’ the album debuted at number 3 on the Billboard Reggae albums chart and won him several awards in Africa, America and Europe. During this period he became the most sort after African artist and began making sound tracks for movies including ‘The Lion King: The Gift’. Burna Boy also collaborated with International musicians in 2018 who include Fall out Boy, Mabel and Lily Allen.
