Breaking: President Mnangagwa appoints new ministers
His Excellency the President, Cde ED Mnangagwa has made two Cabinet appointments among other appointments. Ambassador Dr FREDERICK Shava, until now our UN Ambassador, is now the new Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister following the recent demise of Dr SB Moyo.
Hon Mhona who is a Member of Parliament for Chikomba Central is the new Transport Minister, filling the vacancy left by late Dr Biggie Joel Matiza.
Deputy Minister Mike Madiro switches from Home Affairs to Transport and Infrastructural Development. Hon Kindness Paradza is appointed the new Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services replacing fired Energy Mutodi who was fired for inappropriate tweets.
Hon Matsikenyere, MP for Chimanimani West has been appointed Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolutionfor Manicaland. Hon Mabhoyi-Ncube from Beitbridge gets the office in Home Affairs as Deputy Minister. This puts paid to virulent speculation there was on the President’s options in the wake of the demise of key ministers. Pretentious scholars and impressionable newspapers placed imaginary insurmountable hurdles in the process.
Hope Ambassador Shava’s appointment has no legal repercussions since the president has already exhausted the non-parliamentary appointments (though on acting capacity). Good appointment though.
It will not. Remember SB Moyo was a Senator for Midlands. Fredrick Shava can easily replace him in the Senate since senators are not elected but seconded by parties. The President seems to know his cards well.
Frederick was a minister when l was in grade 5!!lf lf l am not wrong it was the period when Oliver Munyaradzi was at indusrty and commerce! Back again! Ah!
Great appointments by the president, Hon Matsikenyere is a very hard working Mp. Different from the Opposition Mps who are always fighting to have sanctions imposed.
