Rapper, singer, and songwriter Sihle Sithole, professionally known as Blxckie, is set to make waves on the international stage. Blxckie has been officially confirmed as one of the acts joining Sudanese-American rapper Bas on his upcoming US tour this March.
Bas, whose real name is Abbas Hamad, is signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records. His fourth album, “We Only Talk About Real Shit When We’re Fucked Up,” serves as the driving force behind the 2024 North American tour. The tour kicks off on March 3 at the House of Blues in Dallas, US.
This 23-city extravaganza, produced by Live Nation, will take Bas and Blxckie to major cities such as Los Angeles, Toronto, and Atlanta. The tour culminates in New York at the iconic Irving Plaza on April 9.
Blxckie’s musical journey began at the tender age of 8, recording music with friends. Despite studying Psychology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, his academic pursuits were disrupted by the Covid-19 lockdown.
His hit songs, including “Ye ×4” featuring Nasty C, have garnered widespread acclaim. Notably, the single achieved double platinum status.
Blxckie’s debut studio album, “B4Now,” released in May 2021, received an enthusiastic response. His subsequent EPs and music releases further solidified his position, earning him numerous award nominations, wins, and global recognition.
In 2022, rapper KO (real name Ntokozo Mdluli) featured both Young Stunna and Blxckie in the chart-topping single “Sete.” The track amassed over 14 million streams across platforms, making it the number one song of 2022 on the Official SA Charts list of South Africa’s most streamed songs.
Now, the Durban-born rapper embarks on his first-ever US tour. Blxckie expressed his excitement on social media, saying, “I’m so happy to take my music to international stages this year, with this being the first. Thank you to Bas and the Dreamville family for bringing me out. This will be my first time touring the States—I can’t wait to see and meet fans on the road.”
