World-class: New season of Idols SA is back with a massive venue, Somizi, Thembi Seeete and JR Bogopa, in top-class fashion.
Idols SA has been a breaking point for many artists in Mzansi for over two decades since March 2002. Since the start, it has been an example of the best platform to determine the best rising singers across Mzansi. The main strength of Idols SA is its ability to bring in top-level judges who are outstanding in their performances. The result is attracting fine talent like Zama Khumalo, and Khaya Mthetwa, among others.
This time around, season 18 of the show got delayed due to Covid-19 restrictions. It seemed that this extra time for preparation gave the management more time to come out with the world standards better than ever before. They assembled an arguably the best judges panel by popularity and social media following. The panel consists of veteran Somizi Mhlongo, Thembi Seete, Jr Bogopa and presenter Proverbmusic. The whole of Mzansi is expecting the best season of Idols ever, thanks to the promo video they shared.

Many fans were heartbroken when the charming fan favourite Randall Abrahams resigned. It became even worse when Unathi Nkayi got fired for misconduct during shows. Season 18 would be a bag of mixed feelings without its most serving judge of all time, Randall. No one knows how it would be, which is only suitable for raising the anticipation of many fans.
Despite losing loved and tested judges, the management did an excellent job when they chose Thembi and Jr Bogopa. The question is, who are these two judges and why they are so popular.

Thembi Seete outside Idols SA
The forty-five-year-old is undoubtedly one of Mzansi’s finest actresses. She was nominated for the favourite actress for the DSTV Viewers Choice awards, only to lose it to Sanna Mchunu. Her role on Gomora as Gladys is a testament to Thembi’s qualities and skills. Over and above that, Thembi is a fine singer, presenter and fashionable model.
Jr Bogopa outside Idols SA
Bogopa is a top Hip-hop rapper who will undoubtedly add so much value to the panel. He is a serial award winner in his trade as a rapper, including the 2009 SAMAS – Best Rap and the 2008 MTV Hype Awards – Best Hip Hop Record, among others.
Idols SA season 18 is to be back on 17 July.
Indeed, the wait is finally over as the date for Mzansi’s largest music Television show is revealed. It’s been a while, and Mzansi could not wait any longer.
