A Gutu health worker dies one week after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine
A Gutu health worker at Mutema Health Care Centre is reported to have died in Harare. This happens after the male health worker was vaccinated with the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine.
TellZim News reports that Jefta Gwandure received the Sinopharm vaccine on the 26th of February. A few hours later he suffered a stroke and was rushed to Gutu Mission Hospital.
Jefta’s condition remained critical which led to his transfer to Masvingo Provincial Hospital. Unfortunately, he did not improve and required advanced attention. Jefta was again moved to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare where he died earlier today. Masvingo Provincial Medical Director Dr Amadeus Shamhu confirms the death of Jefta Gwandure.
“I can confirm that I received information about Jefta Gwandure’s demise. It could highly be coincidental because he had previously been diagnosed with Blood Pressure. Unfortunately, Jefta Gwandure had gone off medication for no reason.”
“It is extremely difficult to ascertain whether the cause of death is due to complications caused by the vaccine or it just a mere coincidence,” Dr Shamhu said.

Reports say that Jefta received his first dose at Gutu Mission Hospital and went back to Mutema. Just soon after his arrival, he started convulsions and went into a stroke.
This is disheartening especially after a front line health worker with a chronic disease dies after receiving what is expected to save everyone. Among the top priority recipients for the vaccines are the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
What makes it more confusing is that a Chinese vaccine expert in February outlined more than 73 side effects of the Sinopharm vaccine. After publishing this information, the Chinese government shut down his account.
