After all, it seems he is bouncing back on our small screens with a new on-screen character.
Skeem Saam actor Cornet Mamabolo has been topping trends of late after it wa revealed that he had joined 1 Magic’s telenovela The River. He took a break in October 2021 from the drama series to focus more on his insurance business venture. It is a shocker since many thought he would bounce back on Skeem Saam after his dramatic exit.
To redeem their lost glory after a mass exodus of lead actors, The River showrunners now pin their hope on Mamabolo. He was that star actor we all loved to hate on Skeem Saam, where he nailed the on-screen character of Thabo “T-Bose” Maputla. His character has grown, evolving from a teenager living in Turfloop with his well-off parents to a fully responsible adult. Mzansi just fell in love with his vibe. But it seems as if he has found a new home. Taking it to social media, he revealed that he would join the Mzansi Magic drama series The River.
“I know you missed me on your screens; I’m coming different this time, as LERUMO on THE RIVER… ” he wrote.
After all, he joins award-winning actor Siyabonga Thwala who recently joined The River. Twitter went wild after 1Magic, revealing that seasoned actor Siyabonga Thwala will join The River’s cast. He is the latest addition after the drama series was hit by a mass exodus which saw its three lead actors calling it quits in one week. To redeem its views, they have added Thwala into the mix.
Reports have it that the showrunners have since been forced to change their storyline and plot after the mass exodus. We can all agree that the showrunners pulled a shocker on us. However, The River has received a lot of criticism from fans about how the storyline isn’t lovely anymore and how it’s just a repetition. In the drama series, Siyabonga will star as Bangizwe Zwane, an alpha male from the past lead actress Lindiwe Dikana who is just as ruthless as she is.
