Tshifhiwa Matodzi is a former Chairperson of VBS Mutual Bank and its shareholder Vele Investments. He is the alleged Kingpin behind the R2 Billion VBS Mutual bank money heist.

In 2018 the Venda King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana accused the bank of fraud and corruption after he himself was implicated in allegations of millions being splurged to fund the lavish lifestyles of a number of people linked to the bank.
Tshifhiwa Matodzi was the alleged benefactor of R325-million that was looted from VBS. According to the Sunday Times, three months prior to the implosion that befell VBS, Matodzi was enjoying a lavish vacation in the slopes of Alaska.
On 17 June 2020 Tshifhiwa Matodzi was nabbed in an early morning blitz by the Hawks. Nearly two years after a R2-billion theft of VBS Mutual Bank funds was laid bare, several top VBS insiders, including board members and the chief KPMG auditor for the bank were arrested.
