In her response, Viola said that to her, Thuso Mbedu was someone with a lot of integrity in her craft. She went on to say that she also is very hard-working, has a lot of talent and she is accessible. Davis also says that Thuso has wisdom and character that most people her age do not have and that she loves spending time with the younger actress, even behind the camera’ when they are not working. Their fellow co-stars were overwhelmed, and Adrienne Warren could not help but say ‘Oh my God’ after that heartfelt description.

In the hit movie that is all the buzz internationally, Viola Davis takes on the role of Nanisca, an army general of a female unit of soldiers. Thuso, Mbedu plays Nawi, a young recruit who joins the army to help fight evaders who had come to their kingdom and taken away their homes. The two are a duo to be reckoned with, and they have a mentor and student relationship both onset and off the set. The film was shot in South Africa for the past few months and had been in the production stage for two years before shooting. The Woman King finally premiered on the 16th of September to a long awaiting audience and is an instant hit in the world.
