Veteran actress Connie Chiume shared adorable pictures of her two granddaughters on her Instagram as the two little girls had their photos taken outside the Casting Cafe in Rosebank. What could two little girls be doing there, accompanying their grandmother to an audition? It turns out Casting Cafe is one of her favourite coffee shops and she is a regular at the spot.
It seems Connie would like her granddaughters to follow in her footsteps in the entertainment industry.
Connie Chiume’s iconic roles
The veteran actress appeared on numerous shows like Home Affairs and Zone 14 on SABC 1. However, her most notable recent roles are when she played Mamokete on Rhythm City. The character was one of a kind, a nurturing soul who loved her husband and children.
Currently, she is playing the role of Mam’Sonto on Gomora, and she is killing the role. MamSonto is an older woman with undying criminal habits. She looks vulnerable and meek but is very dangerous and unafraid to kill.
In the Marvel movie Black Panther, Connie played a leader of a tribe. Black Panther was one of the most grossing movies in the world and it grossed over R100 million in movie theatres in South Africa alone. Connie will appear again on Black Panther 2.
Connie Chiume’s family in the entertainment industry
Most of the time, the children of the biggest stars choose career paths outside their parent’s industries. The Chiume household seems like the apples fell right next to the tree. Her daughter is pursuing a career in the entertainment industry too.
Connie’s daughter, who calls herself the Coronated Queen, has tried her hand at acting several times and got into television production. Her daughter is also a content writer and a write who produces masterpieces. However, she is more involved behind the scenes than in front of the camera.
