Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter Zoleka Mandela has been named someone who gives hope to others after sharing her journey with breast cancer. The public figure was diagnosed with breast cancer 11 years ago, and she shared her journey through treatment with her Facebook followers before writing it in a book. Today she has bared her heart in an Instagram post where she shares with the world that she has been diagnosed with cancer again, and this time it is worse than the first two times.
Zoleka Mandela reveals she has cancer again.
In an Instagram post, Zoleka shared that she had been feeling a sore back for more than a month. She consulted her doctor when the pain became too much to handle. She underwent an x-ray for her chest and rib and was later scheduled for a CT Scan by her Oncologist. It was discovered that she has Bone Metastasis, a condition where cancer spreads from the original site to a bone. Cancer in the bones can not be cured according to what her Oncologist told her. She awaits her CT scan results to know more accurate results.

In the caption, she adds that she is scared and doesn’t know how to tell her kids about the news. She recently had her 6th child, and recently she celebrated six months since her last one’s birth. Zoleka breaks down and ends her post by telling the world that she is dying but does not want to die. Her post was closed from comments, and her fans have been sending messages of recovery and good thoughts.
Zoleka’s earlier health battles
In 2011 she was treated for breast cancer, and then her doctor cleared her and pronounced her recovered. However, in 2016 cancer returned, and she was treated again, and during both journeys, she shared the journeys on social media. She shared the experience of how they removed the tumour and the side effects of chemotherapy treatment. She has been cancer-free since 2016 till now.
Zoleka Mandela’s earlier addiction
In her early life, Zoleka battled with drug and alcohol addiction and lost her daughter Zenani in a car accident due to drugs. She was also recovering from a suicide attempt during the time.
