Social media went into a frenzy when the new season of DJ Zinhle’s The Unexpected released its trailer for the show. It was revealed that the DJ took the plunge and married her boyfriend, Bongani Mohosana, known as Murdah Bongz. The couple confirmed today that the news was correct through their Instagram posts and their fans are as excited as ever.
The pair confirm marriage
In an Instagram post promoting the Finesse scent from Drip footwear, DJ Zinhle captioned a picture of the two of them ‘My Husband and I are all for making a statement‘ with emojis that showed they were married. A few hours later, Murdah Bongz shared on his page a picture of Zinhle dressed as a bride in traditional gear at a lobola negotiation ceremony and said goodbye to the ladies in the caption.
DJ Zinhle has had several relationships in the spotlight, and they all ended in heartbreak. She held the whole single mother role down and had opened up about not wishing to be married. However, Bongani had a different view and plan for their relationship and refused to be called a boyfriend forever as he wanted to marry the mother of his child.
How did DJ Zinhle and Murdah Bongz begin dating?
The two have been dating for quite some time now and appear to have the whole family set up on lock with their co-parenting and blended family with the Forbes. At first, Bongani was uncomfortable with AKA as a part of his child’s life, but they resolved their differences, given he was a part of Kairo’s life. Zinhle addressed the issue and talked about it in her show, torn up about what to do to get them to co-parent peacefully.
Murdah Bongz first approached DJ Zinhle in her DMs and told her point blank that he liked her, to which Zinhle claimed she low-key celebrated, saying she won as she wanted him to like her. The two only began dating a year later, and from then, their relationship became serious, and they soon had a baby together. Despite her efforts not to get married, they had their traditional wedding six months ago and have been cohabiting since then. The two also chase the bag with their brand ambassadorial deals and even get booked for sets to perform together.
