Watch as Connie and Shona Ferguson’s daughter Alicia shows off exceptional drumming skills during the Ferguson Foundation launch
Last night Ferguson Foundation celebrated the life of one of its co-founders, the late Shona Ferguson, with a launch gala. The foundation was launched in May 2021 with the sole purpose of help youth by equipping them with the tools needed for them to get an education. They also focus on women’s empowerment and have a scholarship fund with the hope of setting up a film school in the near future.
On the 5th of August 2022, many people, including the Ferguson family, came out in all their glitz and glamour for the Gala launch. Ali Ferguson, Connie and the late Shona’s daughter showed her incredible musical talent. She performed with the band as a drummer and gave an applause-worth performance that got a nod from the guest.

The official page for the Ferguson Foundation shared the video on their Instagram page, and Ali looked like she was enjoying perfoming. Her mother was proud of her, and her gift in music and many people seem to feel the same. Ali has always been close with her father, and in most of her posts, as she remembers him, she always speaks of how she hopes she makes him proud.
Is Ali a musician?
Alicia’s Instagram bio already states her as a musician, and she has performed formed for huge crowds with her friends before. She also shared a video at one point of her late father trying to take an interest in drumming and goofing around with his daughter’s drum set. Ali developed her love for music because of her parents’ successful careers in the entertainment industry.
Shona was also a musician as he started as a DJ in Lesotho before he quit music to try for a career in IT. This was all before leaving and pursuing acting full time, and with his wife, they started their own production company, which has become one of the biggest in Mzansi at the moment.
Entertainers who performed at that Gala launch
Some of the performers for that night were DJ Choice, and the headline act was Phakade Lami hitmaker Nomfundo Moh. Bridget Masinga did her thing as the Master of Ceremony for the prestigious occasions. Notable guests who benefitted from the foundation or helped the foundation’s purpose also graced the event’s red carpet. The dinner was served under candlelight, with Bongane Sax wowing guests with his perfomances.
