The actress we all love to hate was born and bred in the Durban township of KwaNdengezi and Hammarsdale. She grew up in a family that believed education was the key to a better life and her parents ensured she had the best education. Pearl attended Pinetown Girls’ High School, and unfortunately, her mother died when she was still doing her grade 10, and her death affected her academics. However, with the help of her loving father, she managed to pick up the broken pieces, and she passed her matric with good grades.
After finishing her matric, she registered for tertiary education at the University of the Witwatersrand for a BA in Arts. While still studying for her degree, Thusi won her first acting gig, and she dropped out of school for a while as it was becoming a nightmare for her to focus on both school and a career.
A few years after dropping out of school Pearl Thusi registered for her degree again at the Unversity of South Africa. This time she was serious and dedicated to her school work. She graduated with her BA in Arts in 2020. Her graduation inspired many other A-list celebrities to go back to school to be graduates.
Pearl Thusi is a woman who wears many hats; despite being an entertainer and academic genius, she also has a thriving business empire. She is a beauty with brains and stops at nothing to secure the bag.
