Last night on Durban Gen, viewers got to see actor Zakhele Mabasa make his debut as part of the cast. Thembinator has been searching high and low for her boss and partner Macgyver so that they work. However, in her search, she rests while eating in the cafeteria, where she hides from her friends. That is when a new medic comes, and after a failed flirting, they return to work.
The new medic is named Sihle, and he is older than Macgyver, who has been working as Thembi’s partner all along. The reason behind Macgyver’s disappearance has not yet been explained in the drama. But even if fans of the show are mourning the exit of the comic actor, they can not help but like his replacement. A few weeks ago, many gossip blogs had headlines about Zulu Boy’s exit from the series, and it looks like he has finally bowed out. He is on the path to focus on other of his business endeavours and left on a good note with the producers.
Zakhele Mabasa’s history in the entertainment industry
The actor who takes on the role of Sihle is Zakhele Mabasa, who sometimes uses Zakhele Mapondo on stage. The entertainer is not a new face in the entertainment scene and already has a healthy following of fans. Many people have loved this actor from his performance on Isibaya playing the funny taxidriver Skhaleni. He was in the series from the start till the production wrapped up in the eighth season.
Before that, he had other roles in series like Tshisa, where he played Dude. Zakhele was also in Heartlines, playing the role of Sipho Zakhele in its first season. Some of his fans can also remember his performance at the tenth SAFTAs under the name Zakhle Mapondo.
