THE murder case of Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa has taken a new twist as Kelly Khumalo inscribes a letter to police revealing the killer.
The police have since confirmed Kelly’s allegations that she sent a letter to them in connection with Senzo’s death.
The goalkeeper was shot dead at Kelly’s family home in Vosloorus during an alleged break-in in 2014 and no one has been arrested up to now.
In a video posted over the weekend, Kelly spoke about the investigation into Senzo’s murder as she alleged to have written a letter to the police.
“Someone in charge is not doing anything. I have written a letter to the police. No one has even bothered to answer me or say ‘Kelly we are doing something about this’,” said Kelly.
The acting SAPS police spokesperson Brig Mathapelo Peters said they were not aware of Kelly’s letter to their offices.
“In relation to claims or allegations by Ms Khumalo on a video on social media about a letter written to the department of police, the ministry of police is not aware of such a letter but wishes to assure the nation that police are working around the clock to ensure that this case gets resolved,” Brig Peters said.
Kelly said that Senzo’s execution was under examination and receiving the necessary attention it deserved.
She has been the mark of the masses’ anger and criticism and she has been at the centre of the widespread speculation surrounding Senzo’s death.
Kelly also said that she has remained quiet about the case for many years but could no longer sweep things under the carpet.
“The matter of my daughter’s father needs to be put to an end. It has been six years. I have been a victim of this matter for many years and I am tired. I am going to speak. I am no longer afraid of speaking,” she said.
