In Pictures: Umbuso actress ‘Caesar’ Keke Mphuthi’s business empire shocks Mzansi.
When last week’s episode of Umbuso came on screen, many fans were looking forward to seeing who Caeser was. In the prior episodes, viewers had been made to believe that the fearful gangster who was taking over MaE’s territory was a dangerous man. Imagine the surprise of MaE when he set a meeting with the new dealer and realised that she is a woman. Caeser is not just a woman but one with a conscience as well.
Keke Mphuthi has embraced a different side to her craft by taking on a role of a gangster. Her history in the acting industry has her taking on parts that show a softer and feminine side. Her debut on television came when she landed a role in eKasi: Our Stories. Many people are usually confused with her cousin Kekeletso Mphuthi who was in Isidingo as Tlali.
In 2017, she got the first significant role of her career, playing Kate in iNumber Number. After that, she landed the role of Mrs Mnisi in Skeem Saam. However, her first main role came in 2018 when she joined the cast of Unmarried, playing Lesego. Her character used her looks and body to get what she wanted in life. However, her role in that series was rumoured to have been jeopardised by her drama with Ferguson Films.
