Popular soapie Uzalo has helped those hit the hardest by the floods in KZN. The Soapie is shot in KwaMashu and showcases the life led by ordinary people in the province. Uzalo has become part of the community in the KZN province.
KZN has recently suffered from the heavy rains that rocked the country over the past few weeks.
Many families have lost their loved ones and their homes. Celebrities have been taking their time to share their sadness and how they plan to contribute to laying a helping hand.
Uzalo has also taken time as a team to show support. The Soapies social media pages have shared a video of the Soapie stars taking to the streets to deliver good Parcells and meet their fans 8n the process.
The video shows just how much damage was caused by the floods in the areas they visited. The team was packed inside the Uzalo branded minibus, and many 8f the displaced people were delighted to see them.
The team visited Umzinyathi, Inanda and Ntuzuma in Hlungwane and Manciza.
Stars of the show were seen hugging their fans and spending time with the people who watch their Soapie.
Lily MaDongwe, Noxolo Mathula, officer Nyawo played by Cebolenkosi Mthembu and Vikizitha Magwaza, Siyabonga Radebe, and many others the beloved stars of the show took time out to honour the call to come out and show support.
Uzalo is one of the most-watched shows on KZN, and this initiative is seen as a great way to show support in this horrible time.
The South African Government declared a national disaster on KZN due to the floods.
Over 400 people have been reported to have passed away, and close to 50 are still missing. Many houses were swept away by the heavy floods, and any help would be welcome at this point.
Other celebrities who made the call to give help to KZN include Somizi and former Isibaya actress Ayanda Borotho. They also pleaded with stars to stop using the situation to chase clout.
