The drama surrounding Heavy K began when MacG expressed how impressed he was that the Black Coffee was a staunch Podcast and Chill viewer. MacG mentioned that the Grammy award winner remembers everything they have ever said about him on the show.
This was when things started to go in the wrong direction. MacG started talking about how they featured Heavy K on one of their episodes, and MacG said Heavy K spoke ill about Back Coffees’ Grammy-winning album, calling it Pap.
Heavy K didn’t waste any time rectifying that statement and calling MacG out as a liar.
He pulled out a recording of the show in particular and made a statement on his Twitter page that made sure everyone, including Black Coffee, that his words were taken out of context and made him out to be something he is not.
In the first recording, Heavy K shared that MacG is talking about the interview the Podcast and Chill had with Heavy, and when he mentioned what he said, Heavy K said about Black Coffee, Ghost Lady, and Sol Phenduka sounded lost confused. Sol tried and failed to remember what MacG was saying about Heavy K.
“Part 1
One thing I won’t allow is for people to lie on my name or project me as something I’m not just to push their narrative; this is what I said about @RealBlackCoffee when I was at this @podcastwithmacg,” Heavy K wrote.
The second video he shared was the interview in question, where Heavy K speaks to MacG about Back Coffee.
In the video, Heavy K is heard talking about how Black Coffees’ old style of music inspired him when Sol Phenduka asked him if he preferred the old or the new Black Coffee sound.
“Part 2
This is a clip from my interview with @MacGUnleashed commenting about @RealBlackCoffee, so now you guys are the judges & tell me where I mentioned the Grammy Award. Winning Album here or saying anything negative about Coffee.”
Heavy K sent Back Coffee a direct message to explain the whole situation, and he shared the screenshot of their interaction.
Back Coffee mentioned that Pap is not a word he would use, and then when Heavy K explained, Black Coffee said, “If you had said anything I was uncomfortable about, I would have asked you.”
Heavy Ks’ fans have been defending him, saying he is one of the nicest people in the entertainment industry.
Mkhululi Siqula is one of the most respected DJs in the country, known for hits like As’buyeli.
Black Coffees’ music has been exposed internationally, and he has said that his music has changed a little to accommodate his international fans.
