Former Isibaya actress Thandi ‘Thandeka Qwabe’ is a farmer in real life
She was dupped as the next big thing to happen to small screens. She hogged the headlines when she bagged a gig on the Mzansi Magic drama series Isibaya. Thandeka Qwabe was cast into Isibaya as Thandi, Bhekumuzi’s love interest character played by Melusi Mbele.
Of interest is that she was cast in Isibaya just after graduating from University in 2017. It would be fair to assert that she was one of the most educated actors on the Isibaya cast.
She graduated with a Diploma in Theatre Arts from the Durban University of Technology. However, in a bid to furnish her acting flair, she furnished her craze for acting with a BTech in film and drama at the Tshwane University of Technology.
We can all agree her shot to fame came in the backdrop of Isibaya, but her world crumbled three years down the line. Despite being the viewers favourite when Isibaya was axed, her world crumbled. Unlike others, she has been lucky to secure gigs, but the actress has swept that tiresome auditions chapter under the carpet.

The Eshowe-born rediscovered her passion for farming. Due to her financial woes, she was forced to leave Johanessburg to go back and stay with her parents. From there, everything was history.
After all, she was not trying something new after before fame she used to look after her grandfather’s herd she lived with. However, her grandfather Phineas Sibisi had a herd that averaged around 300 cows throughout the season.
Last year in June started her Agriculture career path, and she has been doing wonders with the soils. She started a vegetable farm with about 195 hectares at her disposal in Umzimkhulu, southern KZN. She currently has ten resident workers, from an employee to an employer.
The initial plan was to grow cabbages and spinach, but she has been mainly focused on cabbage. This year she is currently waiting for her first harvest of more than 30 000 plants per hectare.
