The Wife has been driving social media crazy lately. Since the launch of this Telenovela on Showmax, the drama has continued to build instead of subsiding. Today it’s trending due to beloved characters being killed off. One such character is Mpande Zulu, played by Ishmael Songo. Showmax released three new episodes and sent fans into a frenzy.
Mpande was shot to death by his family rivals, also in the taxi business. Mpande had become a fan favourite. His death has had everyone go straight to social media to bid him farewell sharing teary emojis and showing much appreciation to Ishmael for his witty one-liners.
This series is loaded with the story and features some of the country’s big names who bring years of acting experience to make this an exciting story to watch.
These characters have managed to build an emotional connection with their viewers, as seen by the comments made on social media. You would swear that these are real-life characters. I mean, the tributes that keep pouring in for Mpande Zulu seem very real. This means the actors are putting in the work on this.
The cast consists of Abdul Khoza, who played Qaphela on Isibaya; Mondli Makhoba, who also played on Generations and Uzalo; Sipho Ndlovu firm the Queen and Isibaya, Nonkululeko Shange who played on Durban Gen, Ishmael Songo who was on the now exed popular soapie Rhythm City.
Hlomu, the Wife, is a book, and all these happenings should be expected if you read it. We hope that everyone emotionally tormented by Mpande ( the roots ) Mpandes demise could find healing and accept the characters fate as written in the book and storyline.
