The top three contestants of Idols SA Season 17 released their songs today after recording at Kalawa Jazmee. The three contestants are Karabo, Berry, and S’22Kile.
Karabo’s song
The gospel singer released a song titled Hossana. She also successfully remained one of the top two contestants.
Karabo is a 22-year-old woman from Hebron. She believes what sets her apart from other contestants is her genuine love for art and music. Like her qualities, Karabo admires Mbongeni Ngema because of his passion for music and art.
The Hossana singer would like to collaborate on some music with Ntokozo Mbambo as she enjoys her style.
The gospel singer would want to emulate Khaya Mthethwa, a former contestant who managed to win and established himself as a gospel singer after the competition.
Berry’s single
Berry’s melodious voice was a marvel to hear in Mzansi’s ears as her Zulu is on point. Berry made it to the final two, and she released a song entitled ‘Ungowami’. Born Berenike Trytsman, Berry is a 31-year-old woman from Cape Town.
Apart from singing, Berry likes cooking, baking and writing music with her husband. She admires several South African musicians such as Lira, Tarryn Lamb and Karen Zoid.
The Ungowami singer says if he were given a chance, she would collaborate with Kelly Clarkson and late Elvis Presley. She said she admires Lloyd and Elvis Blue because of their longevity in the music industry.
S’22Kile’s single

Speaking about former contestants, S’22Kile said Zama inspires her as she liked how she oozed confidence in her performances.
